Single-Phase Immersion Cooling

Single-phase immersion cooling submerges servers in dielectric fluid to remove heat evenly across components. It enables compact, high-efficiency deployments for AI, edge, crypto, and HPC workloads while reducing fan power, dust exposure, acoustic noise, and mechanical complexity in challenging regional operating conditions.

Overview

Single-phase immersion cooling places IT hardware inside sealed or semi-sealed tanks filled with non-conductive dielectric fluid. Heat is absorbed by the fluid, pumped through a heat exchanger, and rejected to a dry cooler, chilled-water system, or facility loop without the fluid boiling during normal operation. Because the entire board is cooled, immersion can reduce hotspot risk, remove server fans, improve acoustic conditions, and support high-density compute in spaces where traditional air distribution is difficult. The approach is attractive in Southeast Asia and the Middle East because it can reduce dependency on large air handlers and improve operation in dusty, humid, or high-temperature environments. Successful deployments require compatible server materials, fluid management procedures, lift-and-service access, and operational training for maintenance teams. Buyers should also plan for tank layout, fluid logistics, server warranty alignment, spare parts handling, and clear procedures for lifting, draining, inspecting, and returning hardware to service.
